Children Learned to Appreciate Books

There are many ways to teach children to love books. The Cinta Baca village library staff at Cileungsi, West Java had an idea to ask children to help the staff to take care of the books. The staff asked them to clean the books and book shelves from dust and to rearrange the books in the shelves. They also helped the staff to see if there were any damaged books. “Our main purpose was to train the children to appreciate books and teach them to be responsible.” said the staff. A village library is located at a sub-district with 2000 books. To take part in opening more village libraries in Indonesia, please email us at
