Belide Reading Post in Palembang

Amrina and Sarkowi decided to open a reading post in their house in Gedung Beruk village, Belide, Palembang in 2010 as a place where children could read, and study. “Some respond negatively with the presence of this library, but it does not discourage us because there are those who support us.”
A Reading Post is the smallest form of library, with 200 books. The Reading Post is located at a local person’s house or in a public place to help children to have easy access to books. To take part in opening more reading posts in Indonesia, please email us at
